DreamLab^® DL-BSCB series Class II Biological Safety Cabinets Type B2 provide both operator protection and process/sample protection for many biological applications utilizing hazardous chemicals which can not be removed by HEPA filtration. Unlike that in type A2, airflow in type B2 biological safety cabinets is unidirectional and finally goes out through outlet connecting to general ducting system instead of partially recirculating.

Airborne contaminants are captured in incoming HEPA filtration before entering the active workspace. The exhaust air is also HEPA filtered so harmful biological aerosols are not spread out of the room. To diminish the threat of cross-contamination, the built-in timed UV light can be used to irradiate work surfaces and tools between samples or cases. Full-closure sash and safety switch prevent operator exposure to UV energy. DLTouch microprocessor controller constantly monitors filter conditions and alerts the user if filter replacement is needed.

How does it work?

Room air enters at A where it is pulled into the incoming HEPA filtration on the top and where it is pulled into the inlet grille along with a portion of the chamber air.
Incoming air passes through prefilter and HEPA filter at B, forming a stable ISO 5 downflow.
Chamber air is mixed with room air travelling through inlet grille at C before moving to the exhaust filtration area.
Exhaust air moves through the HEPA filter at D and accesses to outlet duct E connecting with room ventilation system.
Chemical gases in the airflow are handled by remote devices.
